As a child developmental psychologist...

My goal is to center the experiences and needs of racially marginalized children and families. My work is rooted in trauma-informed practices, racial equity, anti-ableism, and anti-oppression. My goal is to also ensure that the children and families whom I have the pleasure of working with feel safe, heard, and seen. Representation in practical and clinical settings matter as many Black and Brown families are hesitant to receive services and care for their children because of stigmatization and implicit and explicit biases. My goal is to be the representation they need, as well as to help increase representation in these spaces.

My work in this space includes participating in psychological assessments of children who may show concerns of developmental delays or neurodevelopmental disabilities. I am also involved in a range of clinical projects, such as compiling recommendations from past assessments and developing maternal health fact sheets.

National Children's Center

As a professional intern, I worked on an interdisciplinary team of developmental therapists, speech language pathologists, and special education teachers to provide coaching and resources to educators at NCC. Resources and coaching include strengthening the home-school connection, advocating for early intervention services for children, and brainstorming ways to provide support to teachers.

The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women

As a mentor during the 2020-2021 school year, I worked closely with 50 Black and Latina girls who were seniors at the BLSYW. During our time together, we worked on their senior research projects, which were required for graduation, as well as college readiness and resources.
